A Warm Welcome

Maggie

Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about St Paul's. We look forward to welcoming you in person soon. If you'd like to visit us, here's the information you need to assist you.

When do we meet?

Sunday services are held each Sunday at 10.30am at St. Paul’s, Warwick Road and at 5pm at the Sunshine Centre, in Edmunds Road, on Bretch Hill.
Various church meetings are held during the week at St Paul's Church Centre, Prescott Avenue, in Bretch Hill.

Where do we meet?

 St Paul's Warwick Road

Unfortunately we do not have a dedicated church car park. However, there is plenty of free on-street parking available on the streets near to the church building. We'd ask that you please park carefully, taking care not to obstruct any driveways. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to find parking.
Accessibility: There is wheelchair access and a sound loop at Warwick Road for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is also a disabled toilet available (located in the hall at the end of the path).  If you have a disabled parking badge you can park outside the church on Warwick Road.

There is limited space in the church centre car-park, but free parking is also available in the Londis car park (directly opposite the church centre).

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access and a disabled toilet available at Prescott Avenue.

What should I expect when I come to a service?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. During the service we will sing some hymns and songs, join in with prayers led from the front, listen to a reading from the bible and a sermon from the bible passage. We also share news and notices (about various opportunities and things going on in the life of the church).

After the 10.30am service we serve tea, coffee, and biscuits and at the 5pm service we serve refreshments beforehand (from 4:45pm). This time provides a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. There is no charge for the refreshments.

What is there for children and young people?

We run a great programme for children of all ages during our 10.30am service at Warwick Road. All our group leaders have been safely recruited, with DBS checks and references.

Crèche (Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers)
Sparklight (Reception to Year 6)
Laser (Year 7 to Year 11) (currently meeting twice a month during the Sunday morning service)

Children in Crèche are registered for groups before the service begins (a member of the team will greet you for this when you arrive). Children stay with their parent(s) or responsible adults at the start of the service. We include them as much as we can because we really value worshipping God all together as a church family!

All the groups meet in the hall, which is found at the end of the path beside the main church building. When the start time for the groups is announced, please accompany your children down to the hall.

The children’s group activities vary depending on age but they always include a friendly welcome, bible stories, age-appropriate teaching, and prayer, and will also often involve music, craft, drama, fun games, and/or free play. If your children are in Crèche you'll be asked to pick them up from the hall later during the service. Those in Sparklight return to the main service with their group leaders.

Grow Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups, known as Grow Groups, allows you to make new friends, share together, and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, during the day and the evening. Check out our Grow Groups page and get in touch with Mike Moir, who coordinates them.

We also run Christianity Explored courses for those who'd like to find out more about the Christian faith in a relaxed and friendly environment. If you'd like to join one of these, just fill out the form below.

Serving and Volunteering

If you do make your home with us and want to get involved in the life of the church you can join a serving team in time. We like to let people get settled in first!

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:

  • Engine Room (a ministry for the men of St Paul's)
  • The Hive (a ministry for the women of St Paul's)
  • Shine! (a service for adults with learning difficulties and their carers)
