Ministry to Adults with Learning Disabilities
Each month we hold a meeting for Adults with Learning Disabilities and their carers. It is called Shine.
At Shine, we get to know Jesus by looking at the bible in different and fun ways. Sometimes we act out Bible stories, sometimes we watch a video, and we always listen to a talk on what our Bible passage tells us.
We have a friend called Jack who always comes along and helps us to understand the Bible. Sometimes Jack brings his friends too!
We sing, make music, and pray together. We have lively songs where we wave flags and play instruments and we have quiet songs where we can reflect on more serious things. We say sorry to God for our sins, we thank him for his good gifts to us, and we ask him to help with things we are worried about. And we laugh and have a great time in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Shine meets on the Third Sunday of each month. It starts at 3.00pm (drinks and biscuits are served from 2.45pm) and ends at about 4.15pm after tea and cake. We meet at St Paul’s Church Centre, which is located at Prescott Avenue, Banbury, 0X16 0LR.
Why not come and join us? We would love to meet you!

We can't meet in person at the moment but we are recording our Shine sessions and making videos available online or DVD. Here's a taster of Shine Online:
